Intuitive movement

I had the privilege of attending a few dance movement therapy workshops recently which really opened up my world to the concept of intuitive movement.
Intuitive movement is essentially listening to your body, breath and emotion. Instead of being guided by a set choreography your body guides your movement.
Throughout the class we were encouraged to listen to our bodies and given time to journal how we felt.

I realised, in class, the power that intuitive movement and listening to one's body held. The entire exercise was incredibly grounding and forced one to embrace a state of flow, a state of being mindful and present in the moment.
